What is the maximum number of Acc. 14 Auxiliary Contact that can be specified in a Series 7000 Transfer Switch?
Acc. 14 is ASCO’s accessory code for switch position indicating auxiliary contact. These auxiliary contacts change status, depending on what power source the transfer switch is connected to, either the Normal source or the Emergency source.
Acc. 14A* - Auxiliary Contact closed when transfer switch is connected to Normal and opens when transfer switch is connected to Emergency.
Acc. 14B* - Auxiliary Contact closed when transfer switch is connected to Emergency and opens when transfer switch is connected to Normal.
*- Indicates the number/sets of auxiliary contacts.
If * is (blank), A, B, C, D,… = 1,2,3,4,5…
Examples
1st Example: If you specified 14AB/14BB, then it means:
3 sets of Auxiliary contacts closed when Transfer Switch is connected Normal &
3 sets of Auxiliary contacts closed when Transfer Switch is connected Emergency.
14AB:
(14A): Auxiliary contact closed when Transfer Switch is connected Normal.
(B): 3 sets of Auxiliary contacts
14BB:
(14B): Auxiliary contact closed when Transfer Switch is connected Emergency.
(B): 3 sets of Auxiliary contacts
2nd Example: If you specified 14A/14B, then it means:
1 set of Auxiliary contacts closed when Transfer Switch is connected Normal &
1 set of Auxiliary contacts closed when Transfer Switch is connected Emergency.
14A:
(14A): Auxiliary contact closed when Transfer Switch is connected Normal.
(blank): 1 sets of Auxiliary contact.
14BB:
(14B): Auxiliary contact closed when Transfer Switch is connected Emergency.
(blank): 1 sets of Auxiliary contact.

Standard – Number/sets of auxiliary contacts standard/fixed on the switch, even without specifying Acc. 14.
Additional- Number/sets of auxiliary contacts that you can still add on the switch. It would be specified as an optional accessory.
