ASCO Series Closed Transition Transfer Switches contain two separate electrically operated and mechanically held solenoid operators. One operator is for the opening and closing of the normal side source contacts and the other is for the emergency source contacts. The solenoid is energized momentarily through the microprocessor controller and the total minimum opening or closing operating time is typically 20-40 milliseconds for either operator depending on the rating of the main transfer switch contacts.
