How do I set up SMTP on ASCO Quad-Ethernet Module (QEM) using local network email service/server?
Note: This is applicable for both 5140 QEM (for 300 Series) and 5170 QEM (for 4000 and 7000 Series)
In ASCO QEM, the Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) facilitates the sending of email alerts to users when an event occurs on the ATS.
1. SMTP settings can be configured by logging in to the QEM web interface.
2. On the Configuration tab, SMTP parameters are shown and can be edited.
Using local network email service/server
3. Enable the Email Notification.
4. Optionally, the QEM may be configured to provide mail through a local network email server using the server’s IP address, email address and password if authentication is required.
5. Usually, the IT department that handles the network servers needs to be contacted to connect to the local mail server.
6. For email servers requiring password support Enable the Authentication and enter a valid Username and Password.

7. From Email Address by default is set to QEMCare@ascopower.com but it can be changed to your preference.
8. The QEM can send emails to up to 5 email addresses.

- QEM Webpage can be accessed by typing its IP address on address bar of a web browser.
- Default IP address is 169.254.1.1.
- Use admin for the Username to gain full access and to be able to change configurations on QEM.
- Default password is 1111. Upon initial login, you are required to nominate a new password.
